Why Your Children Deserve Their Own Playhouse

When we think of all the good things that are children do and have done, it causes all of us parents to pause and reflect. Our children are the most important people in our lives, and as parents, we only want the best for them, always. This is where a playhouse fits in quite nicely with providing a fun and safe environment for the little ones that deserve so very much.

Play House

As a parent, you already know the reasons why your very own children deserve a playhouse. While these reasons may be far different from your neighbors, the bottom line is that children deserve and desire a safe and exciting structure. What starts off as an idea in your head, transitions to a physical, very real example of any number of playhouse plans.
Youre children deserve their own playhouse for a variety of reasons. One of the most frequently heard by playhouse design experts is that of healthy fun at home. What could be more exciting than to have your very own playhouse right in your own backyard as a child? All of us parents are not that far removed from our collective childhoods, that we cannot recall the sheer thrill of having a self-made clubhouse in our own backyard.

If you are struggling with finding a reason why your children deserve a playhouse then allow us to help you with that issue. We understand that not all children are 100% angelic and that some children can be quite challenging to deal with on a daily, constant basis. If this describes the relationship between yourself, as a parent, and your own child, then please have a quick look at the top three reasons why your children deserve their own playhouse.

1) Playhouse will Allow for Children to be Outside and in a Safe, very Local Environment

2) Your Children Need to be Outside More and Less in Front of the Television or Computer

3) Parents Need Children to be in a Playhouse Outside of the Real House!

Do you see what happened there? The reasons for a child to have a playhouse in their own home, transitioned to the parents and their very own needs. Parents deserve to have their children from under foot and there is no better method for providing this experience, than to give them a place to call their very own. Welcome to the liberating world of playhouse plans!

Play House at Christmas

Children deserve a safe environment into which they can be themselves and be safe, at the very same time. The safety issue is one that cannot be minimized especially in a world that no longer is a safe place. As this is not a debatable topic any longer, what can be debated is the reasons why your children deserve a playhouse! We realize that not all kids are made of sugar and spice and everything nice as we have a few of those unique creatures ourselves!

Children need a safe and fun area in which to play. Playhouse designs are a great first step into providing the children with that environment. These plans and designs come in a wide variety of styles and options and one will most certainly fit in with your budget and financial requirements. Just as children are uniquely different, so are the budgets that parents need to adhere to and in these difficult economic times, where every dollar is keenly inspected, you need to make certain that your investment is a healthy one.

In order to build a playhouse, you will need to first obtain a playhouse design. These designs can be purchased online or in the brick and mortar establishments as well. What happens most frequently and in these days of Internet access in almost every geographical area of the planet, is that parents are shopping online for these playhouse plans. It just makes good, economic and timely sense to search for and locate a set of playhouse designs online.

Children need a safe and fin-filled area in which to play. A playhouse affords that environment and can be constructed with only a minimal amount of labor and building capabilities. You do not need to be a master craftsman to put together a playhouse for your child or children. All you really need is the desire to provide your children with a location where they can be safe and have all the fun they can possibly have, all within your field of sight. Is that not one of the greatest features of a playhouse, parental supervision at a short distance?

Beautiful Playhouse

A playhouse is a place where children can be themselves. Playing is what children of all ages like to do and is something that educators and researchers have discovered as being one of the most important aspects of growing up a balanced, nurtured, individual. Does this mean that once you build a playhouse for your children, that they will magically transition from challenging little people to angels in the blink of an eye? Ofcourse not. That would be too easy on all of us parents!

What a playhouse does offer is almost as good as the above scenario, almost. A playhouse offers children a place to have fun at and be out of the house. These sturdy and safe outside buildings for children are made from only the finest materials that are safe as well. Playhouse plans come in a variety of makes and models and are available online in a downloadable format most of the time.

Playhouse designs are what any parent needs to begin building that little piece of heaven for your children and yourselves. We do not have to feel ashamed over the fact that we parents feel almost the same excitement about building a playhouse, as our children do concerning having a place that they can call, ‘all their very own’.

Playhouses provide a sense of protection while offering a location for the children to be as loud as they want to and as rough as they feel the need to be, all in the safety and proximity of their very own backyards! What could be better than that? If you were to weight all of the pros and cons of building a playhouse against any other form of childhood, outside of the home, physical structures, you would see clearly that nothing compares to the features and benefits of a playhouse.

We can list the benefits of a playhouse all day and still not be nearly completed with that listing, as it is exhaustive and without end. What we feel would be a better way to show to you parents, all that a playhouse can provide, to your children and yourselves, is by listing a few of the reasons why your children deserve a playhouse.

1) They have been Exceptionally Good all Through the Winter

2) Based on being ‘Cooped Up’ in the House Through the Cold Winter Months, the Children Deserve a Bit of Fresh Air and Space!

3) Their School Grades Demonstrate that They are Really Trying Hard to Learn and Deserve a Reward in the Form of a Playhouse

Playhouse designs come in all shapes and sizes and there certainly has to be one that youre deserving children find suitable in the lot. With so many options to select from, the most difficult aspect of the entire DIY playhouse project will be the choosing! There are playhouse plans that allow you to create a virtual small village right in your own back yard as well as smaller, single versions that are perfect for a couple of kids to play in and explore.

The choice of which playhouse design is appropriate for your children or child is really contingent upon a variety of factors. The first is the number of children that you have in your family. If you only have one child then that makes a smaller model more appealing and easier to construct and maintain.

Maintenance on a playhouse is all about tidiness as once built and kid-tested tough, then all there really is left to do is to keep the playhouse relatively clean. We understand that’s a tall order to fill for most kids and that is why we are directing this information to you, the parent. In reality, other than making sure the playhouse is not totally trashed is all that remains to be done after the building task is complete. After that, it is all up to the kids as to how much fun and excitement they will have in their new playhouse!

As you can see, there are just as many reasons for children deserving a playhouse as there are kids. The list can be perpetual as we all realize by now that the main reason for children deserving a playhouse in their own backyard stems from the excitability for the children as well as the parents.

Just think about the idea of playhouse building in this manner and you will be sold on the DIY playhouse program instantaneously. Once the playhouse is up and tested for safety, the children can migrate out to the backyard and explore all the livelong day! They will be out of the house and out from under your feet so that you can have some quality, parental alone time. We all need that in our daily lives, if only for an hour or so.

By obtaining a playhouse for the children, you will be seen as the parent who truly cares about their kid’s fun and learning. Many of us parents make the mistake of allowing a gaming system or a computer to take the place of quality, outside time in nature. As parents ourselves, we thoroughly understand how this happens and how it is allowed to continue. The computer in the home is now such a big part of every family members daily and nightly lives and this makes it far too easy for the children to skip over going outside at all.

The best way to offer your children a way out and a way outside, is by constructing a playhouse. Your children will see how a real, DIY playhouse plan and design comes together and they will carry that lesson with them their entire lives. This is only a small but necessary part of educating your child and it only takes a little bit of your time and some sweat equity as well.

In summation, the reasons why your children deserve a playhouse boils down to their well-rounded lives. A child needs to get outside and more often than usual these days. The advent of modern conveniences has many benefits that are obvious in terms of faster everything and more tasks completed in a shorter amount of time. What must be made a daily part of the children’s lives is the time spent outdoors. A playhouse is one of the best ways to get them outside and have them playing and learning in a safe, stable environment.

A playhouse is a great way for kids to be kids. All that you have to do, as a parent, is to house, feed, clothe, and love your children. It matters not what country you happen to call home as these characteristics of good parenting transcend geographical borders. However, if you want your children to be well-rounded individuals that understand the beauty of nature and not only through Wikipedia pages, then you have to provide for them a place to go and be outside. A playhouse solves that issue and will give both your children and yourself, that little piece of mind as well.

Please have a look at some of the playhouse plans online and see which one fits your child’s wants and needs. Like we have stated before numerous times in this write-up, the choices for playhouse designs are many and there has to be one that matches up very well to your child’s desires.

Why You Should Put A Sofa In Your Kid’s Room

When planning a new look for your child’s room, the first thing you usually consider is the bed and the colour theme. Everything else usually follows from that starting point. Depending on the age of your child, they may have their own suggestions about it too.

But through all the stages of childhood, there’s one item that could be in there from birth to the day they leave home, and that’s a sofa. It doesn’t have to be a big one – in fact a two-seater is usually perfect as you don’t want to take up too much floor space. But if you choose well, you could find one that will be with them through their childhood.

When you have a baby it’s a perfect place for you to hold and cuddle the baby at bedtime before they go into their cot. As they get interested in picture books, it’s a great spot for bedtime stories, far better than having to squeeze into their racing car bed with them, or sit on the floor! And as they grow up, it’s somewhere for them to sit and chat with their friends, to curl up with their own books, and just chill out during those teenage years.

Of course, the room décor will change every now and then – and they might move to another bedroom, but their sofa should be able to move along with them, especially if you choose a neutral colour.

If you have an older child that you want to do this for, you could get them to go to a furniture sale to help choose their own sofa – as long as you get them to agree you can overrule any wacky choices! Stores like Harveys have a great range to choose from and you can start off by looking online to narrow down your selection.

A Buyer’s Guide to Kids’ Furniture

A child’s bedroom is only limited to their imagination; one day it will be a castle under siege from a fire-breathing dragon, the next a grand ballroom hosting royalty for a tea party. Whatever your children use their bedroom or playroom for, it is almost certain they are going to need some specialist kids’ furniture to do it.

There is a wide range of kids’ furniture available and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming picking out the best for you and your child. That’s why this guide aims to help you find the perfect furniture that you and your kid will love in four simple steps.

1. Don’t rush into anything

It can be easy to get caught up in the moment and rush to the shops to purchase the first piece of kids’ furniture you see, but this isn’t a good idea. Sit down with your kids and discuss what you think they need and then have a look at what’s on the market. You may have to compromise and remember, it’s their room, but having an idea of what you want will make the trip to the furniture shop a whole lot easier.

2. Safety is key

There are some brilliant items of furniture out there but the first thing you have to consider is safety. There are different things to think about depending on the age of your child, but there are some rules you should always follow. Avoid sharp corners and any screws or bolts that stick out. It is also important to buy quality furniture, as you don’t want a bed or wardrobe collapsing on your child. Make sure the piece is properly sanded down and put together and you should have no problems at all.

3. Think about style

Ask your child what style they want their bedroom to be and then try to pick furniture that suits this. Don’t be too specific as this can often make your life harder but once you decide, stick to it and add paint and accessories as well as the furniture to consolidate the theme. An older child may just want a desk or maybe a sofa bed so they can have their friends over to stay, while a younger child may be happy with bright colours and novelty items. If you decide this beforehand, it makes life easier and helps you to decide which pieces of furniture will fit their style.

4. Think about durability

Anything your child owns has to be durable if it’s to last, and furniture is no different. This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to spend a lot but avoid furniture made from cheap material that is likely to bend and break. Test it out in the shop and if it bends when your child jumps on it or wobbles as he or she races past then give it a wide berth.

So there we have it – four key steps to take before buying  kids’ furniture. Whether you use the savings in your easy access accounts or stick it on the credit card, kids’ furniture is a great investment that you and your child will appreciate for years to come.

Innovative Modern Furniture for Kids’ Bedrooms

Compact Sleeping Arrangements

Compact Sleeping Arrangements

When children are forced to share a bedroom, the ensuing sibling rivalry and arguments can become a real headache for both the children themselves and the parents who have to sort it all out. One way to avoid such problems from arising in shared bedrooms is to give them an interior design which allows each child to have some private space. Even in a small bedroom, innovative furniture designs can create enough breathing room to allow for harmonious living conditions.

Most kids appreciate having enough space to sleep, play, and do their homework. If you design the room to maximize the use of space from floor to ceiling with an innovative modern loft system, they will have plenty of space to do all of those things and more. An efficient design can both save space and make the room appear larger. Loft-style beds provide just such a solution; the beds are close together, often in a “bunk” arrangement, but are organized to give each child some privacy from the others. The optional extra shelves and built-in drawers can belong exclusively to one child, to help keep clothing and toys neatly organized. For older children, some innovative lofts have room for desks underneath the top bunk, perfect for homework and internet browsing alike. Ducduc’s Austin Bunk Bed and Berg’s Utica Trifecta Loft are just 2 examples of the many space-saving kids’ lofts available.

Innovative children’s furnishings extend well beyond beds and lofts, however. Being that one of the hallmarks of modern design is simplicity – generally in the form of basic functionality combined with smooth surfaces and sharp lines – it’s not hard to see why modern furniture can be useful in conserving space. By foregoing the unnecessary thrills that defined furniture from previous (and tackier) decades, modern furniture is perfect for getting the job done safely and efficiently. Modern designer chairs, for example, are often defined by clearly-defined lines and a minimalist design philosophy, meaning they are much more likely to fit snugly under a small bedroom desk than the bulky chairs you may remember from your time in school.

As previously mentioned, the best use of space in a small bedroom includes floor-to-ceiling instead of wall-to-wall designs. The Tiramolla Collection by Tumidei has several excellent examples of using that upward space wisely. The celebrated Italian designer specializes in custom loft designs for small spaces. It is not uncommon for one of his designs to incorporate two beds, bookshelves, and desk and wardrobe space all in 1 loft. While the greens and yellows emphasize that the layout is intended for children, its sophisticated utility is nothing but childish.

Floor-to-Ceiling Design

Floor-to-Ceiling Design

After considering these examples, you can see how innovative furniture and modern design can easily help transform a contentious kid’s bedroom into a great space for siblings to live together. It’s refreshing to see so many new exciting ideas for modern kids’ rooms.
Just think of all the possibilities in your own children’s rooms; if you are one of those parents longing for more harmony between your kids, make a design action plan. You aren’t obligated to buy a certain brand or follow a specific pattern, but try to stick to the general outlines defined by modern styles – namely, simplicty, sturdiness, and functionality. While you are in transition, buy a small mobile storage unit to organize personal items and special toys for each child. To involve the kids, let them choose their favorite color for their storage bins. In addition to the favorite color for each child, choose a third color or pattern to store generic items or shared property. Once the bins are filled, go over the guidelines and explain the importance of personal space.

Whether you do it yourself, hire a contractor, or win a room makeover on a reality TV show, choosing innovative modern furniture for your kid’s bedroom can solve your issues with space. Once your kids have their own clearly defined space, life will be much more pleasant for the whole family!

Kids Garden Furniture

Most kids love nothing more than hanging around outside and playing with their mates in the garden. Purchasing some garden furniture and accessories can make this even more enjoyable for them with fun and games guaranteed! Nowadays, just taking a look at some garden stores will no doubt make you realise that there are plenty of garden accessories available. The ultimate aim is to make your garden a fun place to be, where hours can be spent messing around and having endless fun.

Kids Garden Furniture

Furniture

Just like in the adult world, there are plenty of options when it comes to kids garden furniture. Giving your kids their own little area in the garden, complete with outside table and chairs will give them a special and exclusive little place to hang out. The other benefit here is that when hosting a dinner party or barbeque in the summer months, the kids will have their own separate place to eat and socialise leaving you parents to relax and enjoy your friends company in relative peace and quiet. Sounds like bliss doesn’t it?!

Accessories and Games

In addition to outside furniture, there is a huge amount of accessories available to purchase for your garden. You really are limited to how far your budget and imagination can stretch. If your children enjoy being active then you might want to consider getting them a climbing frame to have some fun on. Climbing frames come in all shapes and sizes, and you should be able to find something that suits your budget and outside space. Alternatively you could look for items such as sand pits, paddling pools or anything else your children might enjoy.

Keeping your kids entertained is probably a priority for most parents. If you can arrange your garden in the right way, it should become a fun and safe environment for your kids to play in. Most parents prefer this to having their kids play out on the street, as you can relax knowing that your children are within view.

A More Educational Approach…

Children GardeningBut what if you want to enhance your child’s learning and make use of your garden to educate? Thankfully, there is also plenty of choice when it comes to learning in the garden. A popular way to do something constructive with your kids is to dedicate an area of the garden to them and assign them the task of growing their own vegetables. Explain to them that it is their job to look after the patch, and the success of their vegetables depends on how well they do their job! This is a great idea because not only is it fun, it also teaches them responsibility and the idea that to succeed; they have to put some effort in.

Most garden stores will sell a range of plants and vegetables that can easily be grown and looked after by your kids. In addition to plants, you should also be able to find tools, equipment and garden furniture to help them enhance and grow their part of the garden.

There are many ways in which you can make your garden a fun place to be for your kids. Buying some furniture and accessories can really help make a difference to their enjoyment of your outside space.

Kids’ Sofas

This is a guest article by Jurgen Heidenreich. He runs a German website about sofas, which features useful information on many types of sofas, including fabric sofas and corner sofas (called stoffsofa and ecksofa in German).

Kid's Sofa in BlueBuying kids furniture can be a bit of a sad moment for parents when they look at all the sweet and tiny furnishings and just wish they were small enough to use them. But hey, that’s what kids are for! You can still buy that cute little sofa and get the pleasure out of watching your children enjoy them. But apart from the joy your children will get out of having their very own sofa, kids sofas can be quite practical as well.

Instead of your children constantly struggling to get up onto your adult-sized sofa at home, buying theme a kids sofa could be a very sensible solution. Especially if you’ve invested a lot of money in a good quality sofa, the last thing you want is to have your children clambering all over it and ruining the fabric. With a kids sofa, your children will no longer have to struggle and you won’t have to worry about replacing your sofa any time soon.

By buying a kids sofa, you can minimise the likelihood of getting juice, spaghetti or chocolate stains squashed into your expensive sofa cushions. With a kids sofa, you can just let children be children. It will eliminate the need to get upset over spillages and will allow your children the freedom to play, no matter what they may be eating or drinking in the process. A kids sofa is truly a great way of making your child feel special. The fact that your son or daughter can sit on the couch and be perfectly in proportion to it will make them feel more like a grown up too.

Surprising your child with a sofa of their own can be a fun experience, but what could be even more exciting is to take them to the store with you to pick out their sofa themselves. If your daughter loves her Disney Princesses for example, finding a small sofa that has all her favorite characters on it could make her the happiest girl in the world!

If you are decorating a baby’s room in preparation for your new arrival, you may want to consider putting in small pieces of furniture. A miniature sofa can be a delightful addition to the baby’s room. If you don’t know the gender of your child yet, don’t worry. There are many children’s sofas out there that have neutral patterns and colors. Yellow is a very popular color choice and images of farm animals is a very popular pattern option.

Here are a few things to consider when buying a kids sofa: Size – If you have a 5 year old, don’t buy a toddlers sofa, it’s as simple as that! Buying one that’s slightly too big is better, because at least your child will be able to grow into it.

Price – Although those tiny sofas are cute, remember that kids grow and it won’t be long until they have grown out of it, so don’t spend a fortune on it. If you do choose a pricier model, consider selling the sofa once your child has grown too big for it. If it is well looked after, another child will be able to enjoy it for a few years as well.

Loose Covers – Kids are messy, that’s a fact. Although adults are also prone to the occasional spillage, kids usually aren’t incredibly co-ordinated yet and are therefore more likely to drop things onto the sofa. Sofas with removable cushions and covers can easily be washed.

As you can see, kids sofas can bring great joy to the whole family. Whether you place it in the living room, playroom, or bedroom, a kids sofa will give your children a nice place to sit and play and will make them feel oh so special!

Sustainable Children’s Rooms

Eco-Friendly Bedroom

This article is written by Erik Braunitzer of Douglas Elliman Real Estate Company, agents for Bronx Apartments and Condos.

Whether you’re living in a luxurious New York City Condo or a ranch out in the middle of Colorado, it’s important to remember the rules of sustainability. Although your child may not fully understand what it means to reduce his/her carbon footprint, there are a few ways in which you can do that for them. It can start with simple bedroom design.

To begin with, you can remodel their entire bedroom to meet LEED standards specific to lighting. LED and energy efficient light bulbs are sold everywhere, and although they are initially more expensive, they’ll save you energy in the long run, while eliminating waste. Using reclaimed materials in design are extremely beneficial. This would include any of the following:

  • Hardwoods
  • Dry Wall
  • Décor
  • Rugs
  • Dressers

Everything from your child’s bed frame to his or her dresser drawers can be made from recycled materials. And it doesn’t stop right there! There are even choices for organic latex and foam beds. Sheets, clothes and carpets can all be made from 100% organic cotton. Pretty much anything labeled organic, recycled or reclaimed is what ideally should be used to create a more earth-friendly space for your child.

With so many cases of asthma and overall susceptibility to disease, parents want the best breathing situation for their children. Investing in an ionizer or dehumidifier is one solution, but the most natural way to do so would be to improve window design and airflow. Also, any paints, stains or finishes should have non-volatile properties, so when it becomes humid, your children won’t be inhaling toxic fumes.

It’s recommended to purchase windows that are recycled, and can capture a natural draft. This means positioning them on opposite sides of the room.  Likewise, larger windows permit more natural light, saving you energy as well.

And the fact that your windows recycled doesn’t imply health; but by investing in new windows, you’re more likely to trap heat, all the while keeping your child free from the chill.

For most families with two or more children, it’s better to share bedroom space. Bunking up, or rooming with a sibling is one such solution to saving energy.

Going green generally implies spending more up front, but saving a bundle in the long haul. Take your furnace for example – A 95% efficient home furnace will certainly break the bank, but it will reduce your monthly bill immensely. Over the course of twenty to thirty years, this could be a huge sum of money. The same principles should be applied to every room in your house, including your children’s.  Even if you have to undergo complete redesign, it’s worthwhile.

And upon completion, you’ll leave your child bewildered at the illuminating, 21st century fortress that once was a castle with a dull glow. As we progress further into the age of sustainability, these green “suggestions” will soon start to become standards. Although it will take a while, if met, these standards will eventually help us create a healthier earth.

5 Important Things To Look For When Buying Children’s Furniture

Buying children’s furniture is an important aspect of a children’s bedroom as it is going to be the place that they develop their knowledge of the world, so it is very much worthwhile putting time, effort and care into whatever furniture you purchase for their room.

Remember that a child’s room is their room so they will have their own tastes and it can be a very good idea to let them help choose the furniture, colours and designs with you so that they feel included and part of the process.

Kid’s furniture is not just about appearance and looking nice, there is also the need to make sure that the furniture is safe, secure and sturdy to stand the test of time.

We have taken sometime to outline 5 key areas to look out for when buying your children’s furniture.

  • First of make sure that the wood or material used is going to last through the years as kids have a tendency to be quite rough with furniture at young ages. Wood such as oak is very good quality which is perfect for this type of furniture, where as a wood such as pine is not so good and can also stain quite easily as well
  • A very important aspect to take into account is to make sure that the furniture bought is of course fully safe for your child and this means inspecting it and testing it out before you buy. Any of the big branded names have thorough health and safety regulations to meet before they produce furniture, however as most kid’s furniture requires assembly there can be loose bolts, ladders on bunk beds and weak hinges. The lesson to take here is to make sure you double check the end product once assembled as the health and safety of your child’s room is ultimately your responsibility.
  • Space is always a concern for parents as kids have a superb ability to accumulate large amounts of toys and junk through the years. With this in mind it is very important that you think about the functionality of furniture you buy, for example, if you buy a bed, then make sure it has pull out draws for underneath it or that the table you buy has draws for pencils, paper etc.
  • Remember that children can grow up quite fast and as they do their opinions and tastes change, so think about this when buying them furniture. This is why themed furniture is not always the best idea if you don’t want to have to keep changing it as they get older and their tastes in things change.
  • With the economy being tough these days it is a very good idea to shop around both on the high street stores and also online as the internet generally has the best deals and prices to offer for furniture.

If you follow these pieces of advice you should avoid some of the pitfalls that others have found when buying children’s furniture and also save a little bit of money as well!

Sleigh Beds

Sleigh bed

Image via Wikipedia

Sleigh beds are a popular style of bed not only for adult bedrooms, but for children’s rooms and nurseries as well. Sleigh beds are characterized by a heavy stature, with solid headboards and footboards that curve upward and feature a styled roll, or scroll, that faces outward at the top. The name comes from the resemblance of the bed to a horse-drawn sleigh.

Sleigh beds date back to the early 19th century and were inspired by Napoleon’s court in France. During this time, which is known in design as the Empire period, mankind was finding inspiration from Roman artifacts and archealogy.

Sleigh beds are now offered in many styles, from traditional mahogany sleigh beds to more romantic and modern designs. A Victorian-inspired piece in whitewash works beautifully in a girl’s bedroom, while a beadboard design gives a child’s room a cottage flair. There are so many options available for sleigh beds that you can probably find one to fit almost any style of decor.

Sleigh beds are also a popular design for cribs, cradles, and co-sleepers. These feature the same curved ends as the larger bed’s headboard and footboard, but on the shorter ends of the crib instead. Sleigh cribs are a popular choice because of their classic beauty never goes out of style, making it a perfect choice for siblings as it can be reused for a second or third baby. The design works equally well for both baby boys and baby girls.
